Work is fun !!!!!!

Working with MS technologies is always a fun. You wouldn't know what to expect when.
Any time is a surprise for you. You would think what you know is what it is. (WYKWII), but MS is so nice to give you surprises and prove the saying - "What is known is limited and what is to be known is unlimited".

One such case we had been working on for days and found that MS really says - Do not think you are a genius, we are here to prove it wrong :).

We were using a Window close functionality in the TimeOut method in JavaScript to close a Window automatically after 5000 ms. This was working fine for around 2 years and more and all of a sudden, one fine day it dies. The window is not closing any more. We did all round abouts even reduced to timeout to 1ms and no improvement.

Finally I started reading the KB from MS site and figured out that this is a new bug introduced with their latest service pack. Thats funny. Service pack is supposed to remove the bugs in the applications but MS' service packs introduces new bugs and they call it "KNOWN BUGS". And funniest part is we all acknowledge these known bugs.

Read this article from MS to know more about this KNOWN BUG

Working on a Saturday?

I like to work on the weekends from the office just because there are no body around to talk.

It gives you a freedom to complete your work quicker than on a normal working day. I am not sure if many agree with me..

After completing some work went back to the Moon Landing Hoax and ended up with reading a lot of material on the topic. Could be helpful for many who would like to answer those who always see skeptically at every human achievement..

Arrest of Kanchi Sankaracharya

I heard about the arrest only when I came to the office. I could see that those who do not appreciate many aspects of the Hindu dharma were happy for the arrest and full of Contempt for the Shankaracharya stating that "Why this Guy is in the spiritual Path?".

My only reply to these people are - just reflect up on that when TRUTH IS UNKNOWN TO US - LET US NOT POUR OUT ARGUMENTS ON THIS.

I happened to read a beautiful article on Mithya - sanskrit equivalent for "Untruth????".

Mithya is that which is "Seems to exist". In vedanta this is explained with a beautiful illustration of how our mind functions. The example here is POT. In realtiy there is no pot when you look at a mud pot. All there is - is clay or earth, isn't it. What we call a POT is the name and form given to clay. When you dissolve the pot in water all there is left is clay or earth. So clay or earth is the Satyam (Truth) and the POT is a Mithya (which our mind projects and believes in) which is created by our own ignorant way of looking at the clay.

Deepavali and not @ home

Its a sad thing that you need to work on a Deepavali that too in a place which is not your hometown.

I am missing my home a lot today though work is keeping me busy the whole day.

Deepavali had always been so special to me. The day starts with the Pooja @ home by my little Sis (she is so special at home). The pooja is a nice means to extract money from the elders (the Pujarin gets the Dakshina ;) ). Sweet distribution is another exercise we enjoy - a official ritual to meet all nice girls in the neighbourhood. All those nice memoriess flows in.....

I know its bad ... really bad to miss theseeeeeeeeeeee.

Let me now go back to work...

Happy Deepavali !!!!!!

The Title

Sthitaprajna

This word is been picked from Bhagavad Gita (2.55).

Lord Krsna says "O, Arjuna - One when gives up all desires for sense gratification produced within the mind and becoming satisfied by the realization of the self in the pure state of the soul; then he is said to be properly situated in Perfect Knowledge and he is known as Sthitaprajna"

So I am on a try to be a Sthitaprajna - Hope I will succeed with HIS blessings one day.
