Increasingly we need to be able to coordinate the interactions between real human actors in softwarehumans are, of course, a key participant in almost every software system. The following article will discuss why we want to implement human workflow. It will also look at some of the common challenges faced when involving humans in structured workflow systems. Finally, it will look at a sample application that models a leave (or vacation) approval workflow showing some techniques for communicating with human workflow actors using mechanisms familiar to them.
