Indigo Offers Unified Development

Eric Rudder, Senior Vice President of Microsoft's Server and Tools Business, showed off Indigo at VSLive! keynote.

http://www.ftponline.com/reports/vslivesf/2005/rudder/

Indigo, Microsoft's unified programming model for building service-oriented applications, is a key component of Microsoft's next Windows release (code-named Longhorn). Rudder asserted that Indigo will provide improved interoperability and productivity, as well as a more flexible security model for developers creating service-oriented applications. He also noted that Indigo will make it easier to build secure, reliable, transacted Web services.

Interview with my fav personality

I can bet many would have thought the personality to be Ash or Mads.
Nae, this is Bill Gates.

Read the transcript, http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/story?id=506354&page=1 and you will know why I love this guy. May be u will also start admiring Gates

The best portion in the interview which I liked is

JENNINGS: And you say it keeps you on your toes, you have such a huge portion of the market — in all elements of technology. Is the tendency in the shop sometimes to think that we just can't be beaten?
GATES: No, in fact that's one thing I like about the Microsoft culture — is that we wake up every day thinking about companies like Wang or Digital Equipment, or Compaq, that were huge companies that did very well and they literally have disappeared. Got bought up, you know went into a direction that was a dead end for them. So we have that lesson and we are always saying to ourself — we have to innovate. We got to come up with that breakthrough. In fact, the way software works — so long as you are using your existing software — you don't pay us anything at all. So we're only paid for breakthroughs. We have to make a new version of Windows or Office that you think is worth going out and buying.

Windows more secure than Linux

Read the article

This is not the usual claim of Microsoft, but a reasearch paper submitted by two researchers, one an ardent lover of MS and other a staunch Linux specialist. This article is not to claim any support for MS but just from an academic prespective. The research results are though based on some hypothetical setups.

I think its high time, we go with our arguments with actual data.

Another mileage achieved

14th Feb, usually known for another reason, for me its different.
For her every new achievement, I had been with my Sis, and this time, her first Campus interview after she became Chartered Accountant. I just took off from work to be with her.

She was tensed in the morning as I was late from the bed as usual. I dropped her in the institute and came back home. Waited for her call. Can say I was more anxious for her result. I just wanted her to get through the interview not because I want her to work, but I want her to just succeed in every small effort she makes. And no wonder the result was in her favour. She is short listed to work for Ramco Systems , Chennai. They were very much impressed up on her analysis on their organization's financial position etc.

First step towards a high-rising career. My prayers are with you Betumaa....
